Cashmere

Dual Purpose Hop

Cashmere was released by the USDA in 2013 from a cross of Cascade and Northern Brewer. Cashmere is primarily valued as an aroma hop, with late and finishing additions preserving its most distinctive character.

Variety Details

Cashmere combines lemon and lime with melon, tropical fruit and a soft herbal quality, often presenting more gently than many high-impact American aroma hops. Moderate alpha acids allow it to function as a dual-purpose variety, but its nuanced fruit character is best preserved in late-kettle, whirlpool and dry-hop additions. It works well in pale ales, IPAs, wheat beers, saisons and contemporary lagers.

Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
