Introducing Dolcita™: A Little Sweetie with Big Flavor

We are excited to announce the commercial release of Dolcita™ HBC 1019 c.v., a vibrant new hop variety bred to bring bold flavor and reliable performance to brewers around the world. This is the latest hop from the Hop Breeding Company (HBC), a joint venture between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches with the mission of brewers with the best, most unique, and most sustainable hops in the industry.

Originally developed in 2016 using traditional breeding techniques, Dolcita™ has quickly made its mark thanks to its standout aroma, exceptional brewing character, and grower-friendly traits. From the first rub to the final pint, Dolcita delivers layers of peach rings, tropical daiquiris, and bright citrus, complemented by a sweet, creamy undertone that gives your beer a uniquely smooth, fruit-forward signature.

Beyond Dolcita’s uniquely expressive flavor profile, it also shines in the field. With early harvest timing, high yields, and strong resistance to pests and disease, it’s a hop that growers love as much as brewers do.

“In my 25 years of breeding, true winners are rare,” said Michael Ferguson, Director of Hop Breeding at John I. Haas. “Dolcita was unmistakable from the beginning.”

Whether you’re looking to craft a bold hazy IPA or a juicy summer ale, Dolcita’s expressive character and versatility make it an ideal addition to your hop lineup.

Dolcita is available for spot orders and contracting in T90 pellets, LupoMAX®, and Incognito®, with additional formats coming soon. Add a little sweetie with big flavor to your next brew. Learn more or shop now.
