Five Days at Hop Harvest

Every year during hop harvest, there’s so much going on that it can be hard to pin down the perfect time to visit. To help you plan, we’ve put together a great five-day itinerary that makes the most of your time in Yakima.

Day 1: Tuesday, September 16

If you’re driving in from Seattle or Portland, be sure to stop for a quick lunch at Dru Bru or Pfriem Family Brewers and enjoy the views. Schedule your hop selection for that afternoon and join us at 530pm for Bats & Brews at D-BAT Yakima, where we’ll crown the Home Run Derby champion!

Day 2: Wednesday, September 17

Wednesday is a great opportunity to schedule your hop selection and tour the Haas facilities. Check out the experimental hop fields, see our top-of-the-line pelletizing equipment, and learn more about how hops go from plant to extracts and other brewing aids at our advanced product plants. Gather at the Innovations Center with us for Euphorics™ Hoppy Hour from 3pm-5pm.

Day 3: Thursday, September 18

Rise and shine! School is back in session at this year’s Hops Academy: Harvest edition. Join brewing solutions experts and dig deep into hop quality with brewers and beer lovers from around the world. This half-day session wraps up with lunch and a free afternoon for you to schedule your hop selection or catch a free shuttle to tour our beautiful Longmire farm and facilities. Then if you think you’ve got what it takes, join us for our Hoppy Gilmore Longest Drive Competition at 6pm.

Day 4: Friday, September 19

Friday is one more chance to schedule your hop selection, or go beyond hops and beer and take the opportunity to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Fuel up for a hike in the beautiful Cowiche Canyon Uplands or spend the day on the water, floating and fishing along the Yakima River. Wrap up with a beer at the Haas Innovations Center during Hoppy Hour from 3pm-5pm.

Day 5: Saturday, September 20

Did you know that the Yakima Valley is also home to a number of renowned wineries and was voted the best wine region in the United States in 2024? Our friends at Yakima Tourism have put together some great resources to help you find the right wineries for you. Book a tour with our friends at The Little Hopper to get a VIP experience at the region’s wineries and leave the logistics to their brilliant, capable crew.

You’ll be hungry after a day of exploring and soaking up the sun, so join us back at the Innovations Center for the Hops Academy Presents: Beer Pairing Dinner at 530pm!

This itinerary only covers a glimpse of all the great activities taking place throughout the hop harvest season. We’re also throwing our first-ever Haastoberfest, hosting our friends from Hop Products Australia for an Aussie hop night feature, and showcasing beers made with the latest advanced products as we turn Sports Center into the Lupo Lounge. Need even more reasons to visit? Drop us a line or chat with your sales rep and we’ll help you plan an action-packed trip to make this harvest season one to remember.
