Aroma Hop

Strata X-331 was developed through Oregon State University's aroma-hop program in partnership with Indie Hops and traces to open-pollinated Perle breeding material. Strata is primarily valued as an aroma hop, with late and finishing additions preserving its most distinctive character.

Variety Details

It layers passionfruit and other tropical fruit with strawberry, citrus, cannabis-like herbs, mint and resin. High alpha acids make it dual purpose, while whirlpool and dry hopping create its most recognizable saturated fruit-and-dank expression. It excels in pale ale and IPA and can add distinctive depth to lager, stout and mixed-fermentation beer.

Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
