Variety Details
Rakau is fruit driven, combining apricot and other stone fruit with fig, orchard fruit, tropical tones and a resinous pine backdrop. Moderate-to-high alpha acids make it useful for both bittering and aroma, though whirlpool and dry-hop additions reveal its fullest fruit. It works well in pale ale, IPA, red ale, strong ale and fruit-accented lager.
Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
