Hüll Melon 2009/002/706 is a daughter of Cascade bred at Hüll and released in 2012 as part of Germany's modern flavor-hop generation. Hüll Melon is primarily valued as an aroma hop, with late and finishing additions preserving its most distinctive character.

Variety Details

Hüll Melon offers honeydew and rockmelon, wild strawberry and peach, rounded by cream, caramel, yogurt, herbs, spice and flowers. Moderate alpha acids support dual-purpose use, but whirlpool and dry-hop additions best preserve its soft fruit character. It works well in wheat beer, pale ale, IPA, saison, blonde ale and modern lager.

Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
