Hallertau Mittelfrüh

Aroma Hop

Hallertauer Mittelfrüh is the traditional landrace of Germany's Hallertau region and one of the reference noble hops. Hallertau Mittelfrueh is primarily valued as an aroma hop, with late and finishing additions preserving its most distinctive character.

Variety Details

Its refined aroma combines herbs, flowers and wood with myrrh, carnation, lilac, lemon, bergamot and light red currant. Low alpha acids make it an aroma and finishing hop, although it can provide exceptionally soft traditional bitterness when used throughout the kettle. It is a classic choice for pilsner, Helles, Kölsch, wheat beer, bock and other Continental lager styles.

Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
