Hallertau Blanc

Aroma Hop

Hallertau Blanc 2007/019/008 is a daughter of Cascade bred at Hüll and released in 2012 in response to demand for bolder German aroma varieties. Hallertau Blanc is primarily valued as an aroma hop, with late and finishing additions preserving its most distinctive character.

Variety Details

Hallertau Blanc combines white Muscat grape and green fruit with grapefruit, elderflower, lemongrass, cucumber and quince. Moderate alpha acids make it flexible, but late-kettle, whirlpool and dry-hop additions best showcase its wine-like character. It works especially well in pilsner, Kölsch, saison, Belgian-style ale, pale ale and modern IPA.

Beers and Pellets were evaluated using our Sensory Plus™ Trained Panel. Beers were dry hopped in a standard 2-Row Pale Ale at 2lb/barrel for 72 hours.
