Haas Innovations Brewery Wins Bronze at the Washington Beer Awards
The Haas Innovations Team's B-Rice Lager earned a Bronze Medal in the American Lager category!

We’re proud to share that the Haas Innovations Team earned a Bronze Medal in the American Lager category at this year’s Washington Beer Awards for B-Rice Lager!
Our winning lager was made to celebrate Brice Hiatt, our outgoing Director of Pellet Operations. After an illustrious 45-year career, Brice retired earlier this year and leaves Haas with a legacy of true excellence. Many brewers and industry friends have remarked that Brice has forgotten more about pellets than the rest of us should ever hope to learn, and after an estimated 659 million pounds of hops processed during his tenure, we tend to agree.
“Just like Brice this lager is a classic. True to its American roots, this recipe highlights Loral and HBC 1134 hops and uses rice for a clean, crisp finish.”
Virgil McDonald, Haas Innovations Brewmaster
The Washington Beer Awards are designed specifically to support Washington’s professional brewers and highlight the best of the state’s craft brewing community. Each year, this competition brings together hundreds of entries from breweries of all sizes from across the state. Each beer is judged blind by trained industry professionals for aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, and technical merit. We’re over the moon to have a beer that stood out among such fierce competition.
