COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response – John I. Haas, Inc.

Dear valued customer,

In light of recent events surrounding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and its growing impact on global trade, John I. Haas, Inc. is proactively taking measures to ensure the safety of our employees and the continuity of supply to customers. At this time, our manufacturing operations are not disrupted; we have a healthy supply chain and our warehousing and manufacturing facilities are operating as customary.

Haas will continue to monitor the dynamic situation regarding the Coronavirus and its impact on manufacturing, product fulfillment, and logistics domestically and internationally. It is company policy, regardless of the recent outbreak, to notify affected customers of any foreseeable delays in shipments or loss in our supply chain.

The safety and health of our employees as well as assuring continued operations are our top priorities. Thus, Haas has implemented preventative measures to mitigate the risks associated with the spread of the virus. The following actions have been executed:

Domestic & International Business Travel:
All business travel for all Haas employees has been suspended at least through April 30th and we will continue to monitor the situation and extend this policy if necessary. Therefore, we will increase the use of videoconferencing and other means of communication to continue to stay connected with you.

Site Visitations:
All previously scheduled non-essential visits will be prohibited including any/all non-essential appointments, meetings, tours, etc. Only visits by third parties essential to the operations are permitted.

Contingency Planning – Risk Reduction:
Precautionary health measures including thorough hand washing, use of hand sanitizer, cleaning of door handles and other often used surfaces, avoiding handshakes, etc. have been effectively communicated and are being followed by our employees.

In addition, employees have been asked to remain at home when sick or if they suspect they have been exposed to the virus. If able, those employees are expected to telework using virtual alternatives. Furthermore, Haas is practicing “social distancing” in general (as recommended by CDC and government officials) and limiting employee-to-employee contact between shifts, manufacturing sites and administrative offices.

While we have contingency plans in place for our manufacturing, labs, and farm teams in case of rising employee absenteeism due to COVID-19, we are constantly adjusting and updating these plans.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
