This Valentine’s Day, hops were in the air on Capitol Hill when staff from the Brewers Association’s (BA) Technical Resources department, along with brewers, hop growers, and hop suppliers from across the country joined the annual Hop Research Council (HRC) hop and brewing industry coalition hill climb in Washington, D.C…. Staff who attended were treated to a sensory experience by Alex Barth, the CEO of hop supplier John I. Haas.

The Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America® will take place in Washington, D.C., from April 10-13, 2017. The conference will bring together professional brewers from around the world to share knowledge on the improvement of beer quality and performance, while enjoying craft brews.

John I. Haas, Inc. and the Barth-Haas Group will be at Booth #1635. We’ll have experimental hops to rub and sniff and some favorite hops from Europe at the booth. We will also be serving new experimental brews every day and launching some new, exciting products at the CBC.

So if you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to visit us at Booth #1635. We look forward to seeing you there!

Roy Johnson of John I. Haas, Inc. is the Vice President of the MBAA. He will be attending the MBAA – Texas District  Spring Conference on April 1-3, 2016 in Conroe Texas. The Texas District membership is comprised of people working in large brewing and packaging facilities, as well as, smaller craft brewers. Suppliers to the hops industry play a major role in the MBAA. The Texas District holds two technical meetings per year, one in the spring and one in July/August. The spring meetings are usually the most technical and move from place to place based on the subject covered. The late summer meeting is much more social and is usually held in Kerrville, Texas.

If you’d like to learn more about brewing in the Texas District, please join us at our next meeting or contact any of the district’s officers.
