Hop Head hands off Sales and Distribution to Haas
Midwest grower and distributor will refine focus to farming operation, while Haas increases operational capabilities in the Midwest and East.
YAKIMA, WA and BARODA, MI – September 22, 2025 — John I. Haas, Inc. (Haas) and Hop Head Farms, LLC (HHF), both leading hop suppliers to the brewing industry, jointly announced today that Hop Head will be phasing out of its direct sales to customers by the end of October. Starting November 1, John I. Haas, Inc., a primary supplier to HHF for many years, will take over fulfillment of HHF’s existing contracts and customer relationships for non-Michigan grown hops. Hop Head Farms will continue to farm and sell direct to market quality Michigan grown hops, maintaining its commitment to producing high quality regional hops for the brewing community.
“Even though the business is changing, our focus remains the same—growing and supplying high quality Michigan hops for the brewing market,” said Perry Veith, CEO of HHF. “We’ve always been committed to supporting our customers, which is why Haas was the natural choice for this transition. After eight years as partners, we know we share the same values—quality, innovation, and putting brewers first.”
This sales transition leverages Haas’ global supply chain, technical expertise, and expansive portfolio, ensuring a seamless experience for breweries previously purchasing through HHF. Customers will continue to receive the same quality hops—including HHF’s well-known varieties—while benefiting from Haas’ broader range of innovative products, brewing solutions support, and world-class customer service.
“Hop Head Farms has built a strong reputation for quality and customer focus throughout the Midwest and beyond,” said Tom Davis, CEO of John I. Haas “We’re honored to continue that legacy and look forward to supporting these brewers with the reliability, expertise, and innovation Haas is known for.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transition of the commercial business will begin immediately, although customers will continue to receive support and have the capability to pull from existing contracts via Hop Head through the transition period.
Along with the Hop Head deal, Haas also announced today the early-stage implementation of a new third-party logistics (3PL) partnership with Lineage, a leading warehouse and logistics provider to the food and beverage industry. Located in Scranton, PA, this facility marks Haas’ first dedicated East Coast distribution hub and enhances the ability to serve customers across the Midwest and Eastern U.S. Initially focused on pellets, the facility is poised to support a broader range of Haas products in the future. With Lineage’s national scalability and robust cold storage capabilities, this move lays the groundwork for improved service, fresher product delivery, and increased flexibility for brewers. “We’re excited to partner with Lineage and take this step toward cutting costs and improving shipping times ,” said Kiel Gross, Director of Warehousing & Maintenance at Haas. “While we’re still ramping up operations, this marks a big leap forward in bringing our premium hops closer to our customers.” Brewers can expect more details in the coming months as the ramp up continues.
