The John I. Haas Assistant Marketing Manager will work closely with the VP of Sales and Marketing to develop and execute marketing strategies and marketing plans.

This position balances strategic direction and oversight with direct development and implementation of marketing campaigns and promotions, coordinating cross-functional project teams, and deriving insights from analysis to build customer relationships and improve our organization or brand’s market position and impact. This role also supports in-house and agency marketing efforts by analyzing customer and marketing research materials, assessing the impact of marketing programs, and developing innovative campaigns to drive brand and product recognition and growth

Irrigation and Fertilization Specialists

The person in this position is responsible to support farm irrigation and fertilizer programs, soil moisture monitoring, and supervise assigned crews. From our farm fields to the glass, everything we do is to help brew great beer. This position is designed to help maximize the production of our farms.

Essential functions/majority of time spent on:
• Coordinate watering and fertigation schedules
• Integrate soil moisture monitoring, and current irrigation information to develop effective crop need-based irrigation methods
• Implement electronic water flow monitoring, timer based and/or radio valve controls
• Develop and maintain accurate electronic record-keeping
• Manage irrigation stations, suggest improvements to infrastructure, and lead implementation of improvements
Requirements/conditions of employment:
• Must be able to pass a background check and preemployment drug screen.
• Must be able to work the scheduled 40 hours workweek with overtime during the growing season.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Reputation for acting with integrity, innovation, passion, customer service, and teamwork.
• Current chemical application license, current first aid/CPR card and valid driver’s license
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred qualifications:
• Associates degree or higher irrigation management and/or agronomy, or equivalent
• 2+ years fertigation/irrigation experience with drip system management
• Experience with irrigation management systems and software
• Able to supervise multiple work crews simultaneously
• Able to train employees in all phases of irrigation and fertigation of crops

QC Manager

The person in this position is responsible for the development and implementation of all systems and programs related to quality control for the Haas Innovations Center and U.S. based laboratories. The Quality Assurance Manager assists in the development and maintenance of quality management systems/software (ISO, food safety, sustainability, business continuity, etc.) and provides analytical and technical support company-wide to ensure the quality of all products sold.
This position is crucial to successful operations and therefore requires a high degree of latitude and flexibility. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional night and weekend work, as well as travel, may be required, when special circumstances exist.
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen (and random drug screens once employed).
Required qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
· Supervisory experience
· Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) schemes, i.e. SQF, BRC, FSSC, GLOBALG.A.P. and Good Manufacturing Practices (including hazard analysis, critical control points, and food safety quality)
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
· Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Experience identifying the root cause of an issue to get beyond treating symptoms
Preferred qualifications:
· Experience in the hop industry
· Advanced degree in a related field
· Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment
· Training in ISO Quality Management Systems

Assistant Marketing Manager

Sales Administration Coordinator.

John I. Haas is looking for a customer-service and team-oriented individual to join our Sales Administration team. This position is responsible for post-sales activities related to the proper execution of orders. Specifically, this includes: order fulfillment, customer service, and logistics and accounting coordination. This position provides support to our lead sales team through proposal preparation and acting as a liaison between them, our customers, and other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate accomplishment of order fulfillment and compliance with internal processes
Essential functions/majority of time spent:
  • Coordinating order fulfillment for hops and hop products for domestic and/or international customers, including product quote development, production scheduling, shipping and invoicing initiation, and addressing customer complaints if any should arise.
  • Providing sales support to the corresponding lead sales (e.g., preparing offers, disseminating information to customers including appropriate information about company products and services, managing customer contracts and inventory, coordinating product samples, etc.). This may include client-related travel.
  • Providing best-in-industry customer service when responding to client needs, requests, questions, in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements/Conditions of employment:
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test (including random drug tests in accordance with company program)
  • Must be able to work the scheduled 40 hour work week with occasional overtime (hours worked over 40 in the work week are paid at the standard overtime rate)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer  (Microsoft Word and Excel) and internet navigation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a busy environment, including ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong initiative including willingness and ability to adapt to change
  • Detail-oriented with basic mathematical and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field (i.e., experience with exporting and importing preferred)
  • Knowledge of Inco-terms or international shipping, as well as domestic shipping
  • Experience as an ERP applications user
